Depending in which country the project is located, we will organize the transportation from and to the airport or seaport where you will be staying. It is recommended to arrive early in the day as transfers usually happen in the mornings. In case of late or delayed arrivals/departures, we would ask you to organize accommodation yourself and get ready for next day’s transport.

This is again depending on the country of the project site and your citizenship. Generally, we will submit all the necessary documents for you in order to process the paperwork ahead of your arrival, if necessary. Make sure you follow all of the instructions, especially in regard to passport photos to ensure a smooth and timely application. We recommend not to book flights before a visa had been issued.

In the conservation world, no days look alike! Factors like weather patterns, immediate needs and logistics will keep everyone on their toes. Usually, the first week will be your initiation to all the conservation work with introductory lectures before putting it into practice right in front of our doorsteps. Later on, you mostly spend your time implementing what you learned, focusing on maintaining nurseries and doing active conservation work. We also engage in beach and underwater clean-ups for the community aspect of island life and visitor interactions where applicable.

Yes! At minima your own mask, snorkel and fins! Depending on the project site, we might be able to organize BCDs and regulators for you, but this is dependent on availability. Bringing your complete own gear (except weights and tanks) is most definitely of advantage, but let’s discuss this beforehand.

Yes, certainly! The program is packed with work and experience, but you will have plenty of breaks in between as well as off-days for leisure activities, which again, depend on the location. From being a lazy beach-bum and fun-diving at night to experiencing the local culture, many things are possible.
