Lorsque le courant traverse ces structures, il favorise l'accumulation naturelle de carbonate de calcium, que les coraux utilisent pour former leur squelette. Cette accumulation acc\u00e9l\u00e9r\u00e9e permet aux coraux de cro\u00eetre plus rapidement et de former des structures plus solides qui r\u00e9sistent mieux aux agressions environnementales. Ces tables maintiennent les jeunes coraux sur\u00e9lev\u00e9s par rapport au fond marin, les prot\u00e9geant ainsi des pr\u00e9dateurs, de la s\u00e9dimentation et des courants forts, ce qui leur permet de se d\u00e9velopper dans des conditions optimales. Cette configuration permet aux coraux de se d\u00e9velopper tout autour de la corde, b\u00e9n\u00e9ficiant ainsi d'une exposition \u00e0 360 degr\u00e9s \u00e0 la lumi\u00e8re du soleil et aux mouvements de l'eau, ce qui favorise un d\u00e9veloppement sain et rapide. Les p\u00e9pini\u00e8res de cordes sont tr\u00e8s efficaces et n\u00e9cessitent un minimum de mat\u00e9riel, ce qui en fait un outil simple mais efficace pour la restauration des coraux. Le treillis m\u00e9tallique sert de cadre aux coraux et autres organismes marins pour s'installer et se fixer, cr\u00e9ant ainsi un espace prot\u00e9g\u00e9 \u00e0 l'abri des sables mouvants et de la forte action des vagues qui peuvent entraver le d\u00e9veloppement des coraux. En calmant les vagues, ces barri\u00e8res contribuent \u00e0 pr\u00e9venir l'\u00e9rosion du littoral et \u00e0 cr\u00e9er des conditions favorables \u00e0 la croissance des coraux, des mangroves et d'autres esp\u00e8ces marines. Cette m\u00e9thode acc\u00e9l\u00e8re consid\u00e9rablement la croissance des coraux et permet une propagation massive.
