Jusqu'\u00e0 pr\u00e9sent, les succ\u00e8s de la technique ont \u00e9t\u00e9 repr\u00e9sent\u00e9s principalement par des photographies prises aux Maldives et aux Seychelles, et malgr\u00e9 l'impact apparemment positif, un rapport scientifique a \u00e9t\u00e9 consid\u00e9r\u00e9 comme la prochaine \u00e9tape vers l'am\u00e9lioration de la port\u00e9e de ce processus. C'est pourquoi, dans le sud du Kenya, \u00e0 Shimoni, il existe d\u00e9sormais un dispositif d'accr\u00e9tion min\u00e9rale dont l'impact sur les taux de survie et de croissance de quatre genres de coraux diff\u00e9rents fait l'objet d'une surveillance constante. Le suivi consiste \u00e0 prendre fr\u00e9quemment des photographies \u00e0 l'\u00e9chelle, qui seront mesur\u00e9es \u00e0 l'aide d'un logiciel sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9. Les trois traitements comprennent un traitement non charg\u00e9, le contr\u00f4le, un traitement temporairement charg\u00e9 et un traitement qui sera charg\u00e9 vingt-quatre heures sur vingt-quatre. En menant cette recherche avec un \u00e9tudiant en ma\u00eetrise et un groupe de scientifiques, nous esp\u00e9rons trouver une diff\u00e9rence statistique entre les traitements et produire un document concluant.
